If the pet is gone, it seems to respawn after around 20-30 minutes, should you get the bug. If not, try abandoning the quest, leaving Hyjal completely (as in getting a loading screen as you zone somewhere) and then relogging. Should bring him back for you.

I can confirm that this is glitched on Zul'Jin (US), and has been for 48 hours. Currently have a ticket in about this issue.

edit: Ticket has 4 days 21 hours on it. >.<

edit2: Just got answered, in under 4 minutes...after people were complaining in trade they had theirs in for days haha:P

They are currently working with epic precision to get everything running smoothly. Although the most probable cause is that the Raptor is scared of me.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I don't know about earlier trouble (see earlier comments) but I did this quest with no problem.
Gromm'ko is in the south west building with Butcher.
You talk to him, say you have a contender;
The core pup (man I want one) appears;
The pets fight;
The core pup wins;
Gromm'ko attacks you (the bad sport, sore loser - what about the core hound pups his pet has killed?);
You kill him;
Et voila - the quest is done :)

Little known fact: This is actually Blizzard's way of alpha testing ~~Pokémon~~ Pet Battles for Mists of Panderia. They anticipated noobs QQ'ing about instantaneous duels to the death regardless of faction and scrapped the idea.

[I don't know if you've picked up on this, but there's a bit of a rivalry between the ogre members of the Twilight's Hammer and the rest of us.

For me... it's personal.

This one ogre called Gromm'ko has a pet raptor named "Butcher." He's taken out the last three of my corehound pups.

I think this last one will fare differently. He's got a real killer's instinct.

Go to the Seat of the Chosen and challenge Gromm'ko to a match between our two beasts. Humiliate him for me, <имя>damus.]
