I just completed this quest, taking way too long at the moment with all the people currently playing in Mount Hyjal.

The way I did it is just to kill the Twilight Stormwaker's, because they're easy to find and kill. After that, I just camped the Twilight Enforcer camp, the orge camp, for the 40 Twilight's Hammer units.

Took me somewhere around 15 minutes to complete, because sometimes another player stuck around and killed one or two before me.

The co-ordinates for the spot I was at are: 78.8 , 48.9.

Make sure you stay close to the ground so your Acid Blast doesn't have to 'travel' a long distance.

Right behind the quest giver are two green dragons. You need to mount up on one of them to do this quest.

Your dragon has three controls: the first one is good against ground troops, the second is (supposed to be) good against the flying dragons, the third is a power boost "get out of dodge" jet speed button.

The ground troops were easy -- easier than the similar quest in Dragonblight. These guys can't shoot back.

The flying dragons were another story. I found the controls hard to use and not very effective. I managed to shoot down three dragons, but I had to DPS the other two when I got shot down.

I didn't die, but I lost my own dragon many times.

Sadly, it seems that sometimes (happened 1 out of 1 times for me, need more data points!) the cutscene that appears after this quest completes will have camera glitches that prevent you from viewing all the dialogue until after it's over (as well as some of the action). Has this happened to anybody else? In order to reproduce it I'd need to take another character all the way through Hyjal and I'd like to concentrate on my main first.

Seems that the drakes stay phased in even after the quest is done. Makes it tough on farming this area.

As someone who hates to fight on dragonback, I found an easy way to kill the dragons in flight. Get above the purple Stormwalkers, target one, and dive down on them using the second control which grabs the target and kills it in one hit. Then use the acid bombs on the mobs in each of the enemy camps. Once I figured it out it took about 5 minutes to complete.

WOW ....OMFG ... ARE YOU KIDDING ME ........
this area is massive spawn of ore and doing this quest takes this WHOLE area from you to mine in. i was thinking that maybe after i did all the quest here they would go back to normal and have the camp sites back so i could farm some ore here. So now your Mt. Hyjal is cut by 1/3 of minning or any gathering at all... these things fly very fast and hit realy hard even if your flying past them. i have 310 mount speed and still can't out run them... oh yeah forgot to say yes i did all the quest in Mt. Hyjal and came back to farm more for JC and there still there. i would recommend not doing this quest.

The trick is to get above the purple twilight Drakes and dive bomb them while using the speed button. The most important part it to make sure you have targeted the drake with your mouse. then when you get with in about 2 yard of the drake Tithe the Number 2 button and you take em down.

PS. Fing Stupid quest and so was the one with the speech F u Bilzz .

I had a hard time with this as well! Commander Jarod Shadowsong is located at Gates of Sothann. Which is South East of the map!

If you're queuing for random dungeon, you won't automatically enter, you'll have to dismount then teleport. After you're done with the dungeon, you need to go back and remount a green dragon.

I don't know if this helps anyone but you can kill the big dragons without the emerald dragon to fly.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is Blizzard's version of the PS3 game Lair. The mid-flight takedowns of other dragons and the decimation of the infantry feel very much like Lair. Very fun quest and a nice break from collecting flowers and livers!

71, 74 is the little island, south east Mt Hyjal. Mount one of the two green dragons beside Commander Jarod Shadowsong who gives the quest.

Fly away from him to the right (75,63) and fly up high to look for the Twilight Stormwakers. Watch for one headed your way, target it and swoop down on it and use #2 ability. That ability is an easy one-shot kill. While you are pursuing your next Stormwaker, use the #1 ability repeatedly and you will likely hit many of the other mobs on the ground that you need. Take out the rest, if any, when you finish the Stormwakers.

Be careful around the Stormwakers when you are not on the green dragon. They aggro very easily, they don't stop following you and do a lot of damage.

Ok, I just finished this quest.

The Stormwakers can be a problem; after getting killed by them twice, I started taking my mother's advice. If soup is too hot, take it from the edge. Stay against the hills, and sneak around to avoid the Stormwakers initially. Don't worry about whether or not the acid spit only takes out 1-2 elementals at a time; it might be slow, but it's faster than corpse running if you fly straight into a pack of 'wakers.

For the Stormwakers themselves, remember another piece of advice from The Offspring; keep them seperated. Wait for a single one to come around to you; don't chase them, because that will lead you into a group, and once the shadow bolts start en masse, it's all over. The rake spell won't autotarget before firing, either; you have to explicitly target them yourself, and then spam 2. That is what got me the first two times.

Wait for the strays, and you'll be finished before you know it. You only need 5.

Everytime I go near the Twilight's Hammer mobs for the quest, I INSTANTLY disconnect. Anyone having this?

I killed them without the emerald dragon on my DK. If anyone is having this problem, do this until it is fixed. It is possible to kill them, even though they drop no loot and no exp. ..

I just finished this quest, and I thought it was really quite fun. Right hand on the mouse to steer and target. Left hand on keyboard with pinky on '1', ring finger on '2', index finger on '4', and thumb on space bar. What you do with your middle finger is your business.

Get way up above the stormwakers. Find one and target with a mouse click. Dive toward it and when just in range (when the 2 stops being red) hit your '2' button. Then space bar to climb. If another stormwaker fires at you, hit '4' and space bar and speed-climb away. The fiery instructors are even more fun. Dive toward a pack if you can, target one of them, and hit '1' then the space bar to climb back up. You'll take out two or three at a time. It's just dive bombing.

This would make a great daily.

It wasn't till the end that I realized you're supposed to get on the Emerald Drake. I just killed everything. Didn't take that long really.

For the Stormwakers I used this simple technique. Drop into their paths as they fly towards you. They will then stop and attack you. Mouse round till you're facing them and let go with number 2. You might have to space-bar up a couple of taps but they go down really easily. No chasing around trying to catch them!

I'm doing Hyjal for the first time since the day of Cataclysm's release. The first time through I was on my disc priest, and in a mad dash to level and break away from the swarms of players mucking up the zones... and now, I see, they give us drakes for this quest...
