New Zone in Shadowlands Patch 9.2: Eternity's End

New Zone - Zereth Mortis

A brand new outdoor zone in the edgy of reality, Zereth Mortis is the forbidden realm of the First Ones. Zereth Mortis is considered a workshop to the First Ones, where they create the afterlives souls go to in the Shadowlands. Zereth Mortis will be the main story content of Patch 9.2.

Information about Zereth Mortis is still limited, but here are some things we know so far.:

There are seven stages of content unlocks.
Content includes World Quests and Daily Quests. These new daily activities unlock after completing Chapter 3 of the new Campaign 9.2 chapter.
The Enlightened are the new faction in Zereth Mortis:
The Enlightened are a Broker faction that discovered Zereth Mortis long ago and have since abandoned the usual transactional ways of the brokers. Instead of seeking opportunity and profit, they now see Zereth Mortis as a sacred place and will do everything in their power to seek and protect the knowledge bound within the zone.

There will be new rares and treasures to discover in Zereth Mortis.

New Progression System - Cypher of the First Ones

In Patch 9.2, Renown Progression is substituted by a new progression system, the Cypher of the First Ones - The Automa, denizens of Zereth Mortis, communicate using this alphabet and as we learn and decipher this new language, we will gain new powers used to help bring the Jailer down. Cypher of the First Ones is one of the main systems in Patch 9.2 which can be used to help with exploration in Zereth Mortis and enabled thanks to Pocopoc, a friendly and customizable companion that unlocks near the end of the third chapter, Forming an Understanding.

The Cypher system is intended to improve your experience only within Zereth Mortis, and provides no power for any dungeons, raids, or other zones. This uses a new currency, Шифры Предвечных, earned through completing daily quests. These are used to upgrade Pocopoc and its systems, with four talent trees: Metrial, Aealic, Dealic, and Trebalim. Each tier has an introduction talent that must be researched before advancing on other talents to that tree and progressing on.

Once you completing the Cypher of the First Ones talent Понимание мистерийского, you will be able to see and interact with 3-4 puzzle boxes around Zereth Mortis every day. Completing these puzzles rewards 2-4 Шифры Предвечных.

Pocopoc

As mentioned, Pocopoc is a friendly robot companion that will unlock near the end of the third chapter of the 9.2 campaign. You will be able to summon this companion in Zereth Mortis, and use it for a variety of tasks.

Pocopoc's appearance can be changed through the Pocopoc Customization Console. You will be able to customize six options: Body Color, Component Color, Vambraces, Face Decoration, Shield Core, and Main Core. In addition, you'll be able to obtain disguises similar to those available for Pepe -- in fact, there is even a Pepe-themed disguise.

New Reputation - The Enlightened

The Enlightened are brokers that arrived on Zereth Mortis a long time ago. They no longer see their world in a transactional manner, but instead they treat their dwelling as a sacred place, and hope to answer to a higher calling—the pursuit of knowledge. Find common ground with The Enlightened to succeed and defend Zereth Mortis.

The Enlightened has several interesting reputation rewards like an account-wide Covenant Legendary Memory, the infinite Shadowlands Augment Rune, and much more. For more information, check our reputation guide!

New 9.2 Campaign Chapters in Patch 9.2

There will be a new Campaign in 9.2 with 7 chapters.

For players who completed the first three chapters, there will be a skip available for any alts that follow. Once one characters has completed the third chapter, subsequent characters can pick up the first quest Призыв Примаса and then talk to Тал-Инара to skip the storyline. This also unlocks Pocopoc and the Cypher of the First Ones System for those characters.

Antros, Keeper of the Antecedents is a new world boss in Patch 9.2. Located on Antecedent Isle all the way north in Zereth Mortis, Antros drops ilvl259 gear and Conduits.

New Raid - Sepulcher of the First Ones in Patch 9.2: Eternity's End

The Sepulcher of the First Ones is a 11 boss raid located within Zereth Mortis. The location contains the Progenitors' most ancient and powerful creations, and Zovaal is headed there to find a way to rewrite reality and the rules of the universe. As we breach the vault and eventually face Anduin, still dominated by the Jailer, players attempt to find a way to resist Zovaal's Domination magic and end the rogue Eternal One once and for all.

What we currently know about the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid:

There are 11 bosses in the raid:
This includes Anduin (8th boss) and the jailer Zovaal (11th boss).
Other bosses include the forces of the Jailer, Dreadlords, an Algalon-like being called the Consular.

The raid will be locked to 8 bosses during the first week (up to and including Anduin).

The following week, all 11 bosses are available on Normal, Heroic and Mythic.

Return of Class Tier Sets - Progenitor Tier

With the Sepulcher of the First Ones, tier sets will also be returning. Absent from the game since Legion, Tier Sets have some changes in comparison to their past incarnations.

Progenitor tier sets will have 2 set and 4 set bonuses, with the sets having a total of 5 pieces. These set bonuses feature fun and unique benefits for a certain playstyle" and are trying to get rotations to become more fresh and unique.
Raiders will get their sets more quickly than everyone else from Bosses in the Raid.
If you don't raid, you will still be able to interact with the system through the Cypher system on Zereth Mortis, which will eventually unlock the Forge of Creation system.
This system allows you to earn a new currency, and spending it will allow you to take any item of appropriate item level and upgradable and turn it into a Tier set piece. The Creation Catalyst will be unlocked on Week 8 of Patch 9.2.

Progenitor Tier pieces can be obtained from the Great Vault in all possible slots.

New Torghast Wing: Jailer's Gauntlet

Patch 9.2 introduces a new type of Torghast encounter with the Jailer's Gauntlet, aka "Boss Rush". Instead of long levels of trash with trash, traps, puzzles, and events, this fast and furious method is a series of quick boss fights in small packs. Completing layers of the Jailer's Gauntlet gives rewards such as a pet, new Hearthstone toy, a title, and the Огромная эбеновая крыса Утробы mount.

Comprised of eight single-room levels featuring small groups of level 60-62 Elites. These are familiar normal Elites, Silver Rare Elites, and Wing Bosses from regular Torghast.
Does not include Box of Many Things, traps, puzzles, events, Ashen Phylacteries, large numbers of trash packs, mawrats, or Souls to rescue.
Difficulty goes up to Layer 8, with special rewards for completing even-numbered Layers. Layer progress is accountwide.
Layers will award large amounts of Пепел душ, with Угли душ starting at Layer 2 -- more than a typical Torghast run. This makes it a nice catch-up mechanism for characters who still need to advance Legendaries to 235.
Offers a faster pace, with high numbers of high-level Anima powers to make things easier as you go!

Druid Travel Forms

New Druid Travel Forms have begun appearing in 9.2 datamining. There is no data on how this is acquired.

Warlocks can now choose an Incubus form to replace the Succubus. This maybe available through a glyph, although they may also be adding this to TBC where glyphs aren't available, so this is still up in the air. You will also have the ability to summon these randomly.

Profession Changes in Patch 9.2

Optional Reagents

Rare Crafted equipment will now have an additional Optional Reagent slot.

There are also a wide variety of new Optional Reagents for many professions, including Alchemy, Enchanting, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting, as well as new Crafter's Marks.

New Recipes and Reagents

In addition to the Optional Reagent recipes, there will be new recipes for most professions. There is also a new Fish, Herb, Ore, Hide, and Cloth to go along with new recipes.

Protoform Synthesis

Protoform Synthesis is a new sub-profession system that appears in Patch 9.2, Eternity's End. This system consists of several recipes to craft your own pets and mounts by using reagents found within Zereth Mortis. Many of these are dedicated to creating battle pets and mounts. Protoform Synthesis appears to be similar to Junkyard Tinkering from Battle for Azeroth in that all players will be able to learn it, but different in that reagents are either Battle.net Account Bound or not bound at all.

New Game Mode in Torghast

New Game Mode: The Jailer’s Gauntlet
Run through a series of increasingly challenging boss battles, across 8 floors per layer and 8 layers total to earn unique rewards.
Four new challenging Layers have been introduced, Layers 13–16.

Torments

Empowered Torments will be introduced, increasing the strength of existing Torments. One Empowered Torment will be applied to Layers 13-14, and 2 Empowered Torments will be applied to Layers 15-16.

New PvP Features in Patch 9.2New PvP Brawl: Solo Shuffle

One of the new PvP features in Patch 9.2 is a new PvP Brawl, Solo Shuffle. Solo Shuffle is being added as a means of experimenting with eventually adding solo queue to ranked Arena matches.

Solo Shuffle consists of a series of 3v3 Arena matches where the 6 picked players will fight in every possible combination.
Teams will always consist of two DPS players and one healer player. The healers will always fight against each other.

As Arena matches can last quite some time normally, some measures are added in place to ensure each Solo Shuffle round has a short duration:

The first team to kill an opponent immediately wins the round.
Mana regeneration is restricted - Drinking will be less effective (and removing drinking entirely from Solo Shuffle is a possibility).
If a player leaves the match, the matches are resolved as if the leaver player lost every round.

They want to see if it's a feature they can permanently add.

New PvP Trinkets: CC Immuning

New PvP trinkets will be added to Patch 9.2, with interesting effects for CC immuning.

New Arena: Maldraxxus Coliseum

A new Arena is being added in Patch 9.2: Maldraxxus Coliseum.

Maldraxxus Coliseum is based of the Theater of Pain in Maldraxxus. Photos of the arena seem to indicate that there will be three pillars that players can use to their advantage in battle.

User Interface and Accessibility Changes in Patch 9.2

New Features

Click Casting: This will allow you to cast spells simply by clicking on a unit frame. Set up your spell bindings by going to the Key Bindings menu or Interface Options → Combat.

New Settings

Unit Frame Mouseover Casting: This setting allows you to mouse over a unit frame and cast a spell on that character without targeting them.. Access this setting under Interface Options > Combat.

Very underwhelming patch. Do the two dailies, the three WQs (which are not up at the same time), and basically get the hell out of that zone, it is so annoying. Latest thing I ran into: "This Cypher is already being researched by another character on your account" .. and doesnt let me choose it. WTF! We have NO FLYING - AND SINGLE PLAYER MODE now ? This is getting ridiculous.

So I take it its not worth coming back for? Seems like much the same and now that I know how the Jailer 'concludes' the story is a non-existent factor for me personally anymore.

What a bloated mess of everything. I have never dreaded playing a World of Warcraft expansion. But Shadowlands wasn't just any expansion. It was the one that killed WOW for me. I love my WOW complicated, not confusing. There's a difference and the developer of Shadowlands didn't seem to know it. "More stuff" isn't an asset to a game unless the "stuff" is worthwhile to do and is intuitive. I rarely had to Google anything in BFA or any expansion before Shadowlands, but this one? Wow. And not Wow in a good way.

Reminder to Blizzard: The bulk of your subscribers aren't Twitch raiders. They're paying for Warcraft, not getting paid from Warcraft. I don't want to have to watch 20 videos to learn the first raid. It was overblown to the point where I dreaded logging in.
