Ember Court Strategy Guide - Increasing Happiness with Every Guest

When you speak to one of the party organizers (eg. Lord Garridan, Hips, Picky Stefan, Boot the Beaut), a list of notes will be attached to the side of the player choice frame.
These notes contain reminders of what choices provide what atmosphere traits.
Also shows the full guest list, to help you pick and chose which guests you wish to host.

Ember Court RSVP Reminder

When you have Temel selected, this WA will scan your bags for all the RSVP items and put a text reminder on the screen, alerting you to the fact that you may not have consumed them.
This particular WA came about when I hosted my Ember Court, and no one showed up because while I had done everything right, I simply had forgotten to CONSUME the items. Please Blizz...

Ember Court Theotar Reminder

When you have Temel selected, it simply places a large text reminder to change your Soulbind to Theotar the Made Duke so that you can take advantage of Душа компании

I hope this guide will be expanded with random events that pop up in ember court. Yesterday I had "Party Crashers" event - uninvited guests show +Relaxing/+Exciting on hover, but completing the quest by killing all party crashers REDUCED Relaxing by a lot! Does anyone know if there is an alternative way of dealing with uninvited guests to boost Relaxing instead?

Thanks for this! Would also be great if we could get a guide that shows how to deal with the different encounters/options that each building option offers. Being on a strict time once inside would make that immensely helpful!

How do you put out fires when they spawn during the event? I couldn't for the life of me find any interact object to put them out and no special button appeared when I was near/on a fire.

Because of this, a run down of the special events that can spawn and what to do to complete each (even if just a 1 liner for description) would be great to add to this guide.

If you have the Alter of Accomplishment, you will most likely have the Massive Sinstone option for your Adventurer of Revendreth achievement. Do not use it for the combos above because it will either work against a guest's happiness (gives +decadence) or do nothing at all. Specifically do not use it when Kleia and Pelagos are in your party. Adventurer of Ardenweald unlocks a +relaxing bonus and can be used with Droman Aliothe, but absolutely do not use it with Choofa. Adventurer of Maldraxxus is +messy so use it for Plague Deviser Marileth, but don't use it with Sika. Adventurer of Bastion is +humble so use it for Kleia and Pelagos.

I can't seem to find an event associated with Stoneborn Reserves that increases "Decadent". Anybody got an idea?

For "The Countess Ember Court Strategy" you can switch out Cryptkeeper Kassir for Plague Deviser Marileth. I did that and I was able to almost max out messy and he got elated.

What is this thing with the various buffs you can get by chatting with folks?

Tried this several times, and never got any effect (buff). Then, at some point in time, I think it was after reaching tier 3, I *did* get a buff from that (only tried speed).

Today, trying it with an alt that has just unlocked tier 1: no effect at all, again.

So, is it meant to be working only at tier 3 (in this case it shouldn't be available in the UI for lower tiers, of course), or is this just bug #2957 in the list of bugs that never will see a fix?

(Sorry for the tone that could be perceived as "negative", but they really don't leave us much choice, with the current state of quality of the game they are throwing at us. Everything, literally everything seems to be tuned to squeeze out the most play time possible. And I tend to think that also the never-fix-a-playtime-increasing-bug strategy is not driven by laziness or incompetence.)

Update (2021-05-13):

Yesterday I got the buff as advertised also on two toons at tier-1-Embercourt. So, not sure what is going on, a silent fix?, randomness?

at beginn all the normal guests are at the east side entrance. there is an event. but i nearly can never finish it ? how that works / works best ?

I created set of weakauras to help me during the court itself:
Ember Court - Happiness shows the current mood of every invited guest. This works even if you have a nameplate addon that hides the normal mood UI. With the added bonus that you don't have to be anywhere close to your guest to know how happy they are :)

Ember Court - Atoning Rituals will show the correct sin committed during the atoning rituals
Ember Court - Dance for love is basically the same thing, but for the dance with Iven minigame instead.

Ember Court - Atmosphere shows the actual numbers that make up the atmosphere of your court, next to the bars. This makes it easier to also see how much gain an activity actually gives you (this turns out to be anywhere between 1% and 30% depending on activity)

Every time I get the "Made to Order" event/objective I can't do it. It won't let me serve the cakes or drinks. Is it bugged or am I doing something wrong?

If you are just doing this for the ember court rep and don't care about other guests I can recommed going with Rendle & Cudgelface setup. takes like 2 min and you got all at elated and can close the ember court.

If you like me and want to get all reputations in equal there is the guest list without any conflicts between the guests. I think Blizzard didn't think about this part of The Ember Court so I had some troubles with Building Layout but there is:

Be ware: Glimpse of the Wilds gives you Clean instead of Messy which your guests want. There is just no better choice. I tried it so I can say that it is POSSIBLE to get all of guests happy even Marileth.

Be ware 2: Safe VS Dungerous there but we have more Safe than Dungerous.

And some other things you may want to remember:

Each special guest (Baroness Vashj, The Countess, Mikanikos, Lady Moonberry) has its own events for increasing their happiness. It means you can exclude some kind of attribute in buildings but you WILL get it. (For example, my last set of guests for gaining reputation was all Bastion's guests: Sika, Kleia&Pelagos, Polemarch Adrestes, Mikanikos. I used Mystery Mirrors, Glimpse of the Wilds, Tubbin's Tea Party, Venthyr Volunteers, which means no Humble/Decadent there, But I had some Humble events for Mikanikos and I got some Humble level.)
Increasing happiness of guests depends on all their wishes but not only one. For example, Polemarch Adrestes wants Clean and Formal. If your court will get Clean and Casual then Adrestes never be Elated with it. BUT! Not so never as never at all. :) See next point V
You ARE able to get Elated mood even if you have guests with opposite wishes. For getting it make sure one of these guests have the second wish. For example, you can get Plague Deviser Marileth (Messy) + Polemarch Adrestes (Clean, Formal). This way you must get about 25-30% of Messy and more that 50%-75% of Formal and you will get Elated for both of them. But look careful for attribute. Some more Messy and Elated mood of Adrestes will be decreased. Some less Messy and Elated mood of Marileth will be decreased. For addition, keep in mind that I wasn't novice at Ember Court when I did it and I had many other ways to increase happiness. See next point V

So, getting Elated mood is not so hard as it seems it all are about knowledges of how it works. And all at The Ember Court is about waiting time between the weekly cooldowns.

Something that I discovered tonight is that if you're Venthyr; go to someone's Ember Court who is best friends with guests and talk to them to get a permeant 30% buff to rep gains with that person.

I followed the Polemarch Adrestes Ember Court Strategy precisely, and Grandmaster Vole ended up miserable.

Which makes sense; he's the opposite of the others (Dangerous vs. Safe)

You should specidy "don't bring him until Sika is friendly, giving you access to the water to douse the candles."
