This is quite a nice little trinket, my rogue very much enjoys its use.
Applying to ranged AP as well makes this a good trinket for just about anyone with gun or blade.
Shares cooldown with Uniting Trinket :(
What makes this trinket better than the average AP-on-use trinket is the fact that it lasts 20 seconds, instead of the usual 15.
I don't want to do the math, but I'm sure that it makes it significantly better. Have yet to find a replacement (heroic badge turnin trinket comes to mind, but that's exponentially harder to get than this.)
hey whats better? Core of Ar'kelos or
if you could tell me thatd be awesome cause i needa decide for my rogue :O
well xaraphyne im not sure what class u are but i cant rly think why 26crit < 52 ap.. thats 1crit per 2ap and most ppl thisk that 1crit>2ap
Better than Bladefist's IMO due to the longer duration and the 52AP (AP being more important than crit at least for a combat sword rogue, which is what I'm playing atm).
Will it's ability stack with Bladefist's breadth? Leading to an increase in AP by 400 for the first 15 sec???? Because that would be sweet.
...wtf? At level 70, 26 crit rating from Bladefist's Breadth is more than 1% chance to crit. You'd choose 52 AP over that?
52 AP adds not even 4DPS to your white damage. I'm a Shaman, and I'd choose Bladefist's Breadth over this trinket any day of the week.
My second trinket (Ancient Draenei War Talisman:
) happens to add 21 crit strike rating at the moment, though it has the exact same use effect as Bladefist's Breadth. I'd not even replace that with 52 AP thank you very much.
On the subject of the Core of Ar'kelos vs. Bladefist's Breadth:
I would argue that Core of Ar'kelos is better then Bladefist's Breadth because AP tends to scale better then raw critical strike rating.
As I understand it a fully buffed rogue in black temple gear will only need about 4 attack power per single DPS increase. So in reality, to a rogue this trinket could be worth as much as a raw 13 DPS increase.
However any black temple rogue would have a much better trinket so that argument is somewhat mute.
Of course this is all subject to my own opinion, and is therefore somewhat flawed : /
But in the end, I feel that critical strike rating is overrated because people are able to see a much more a bigger number
There are still a few trinkets that allow you to "double dip" ie - If you have a Serpent Coil Braid and an activated trinket (Icon of the silver crescent/hex shrunken head).
For a mage you can pop your Icon/Hex Head and then consume a mana gem to get the +spell damage modifier from both.
However, if you consume a mana gem first it will put your trinket on cooldown.
