8.3 PTR - Magni's Plan Questline Introduction Quest (Story Spoilers)
23.10.2019 в 05:04
With the latest PTR build, a new questline has been given to Magni for Visions of N'Zoth. This questline is meant to expand the story leading to the new Ny'alotha raid, as well as introduce some of the new mechanics for Patch 8.3.
This is a rather long questline.
WARNING: STORY SPOILERS! Do not continue on if you don't want to be spoiled!
This is the
version of the questline. The Horde questline should be about the same, with only a slightly different start.
The Titanic Threat
You will receive the quest for the first time when zoning into Boralus once Patch 8.3 is released. When logging there, Magni will give you the quest
, asking you to go to Stormwind at once, mentioning that the SI:7 agents haven't had much luck with finding servants of N'Zoth. Once you arrive at the throne, you can see both Shaw, Valeera and Baine Bloodhoof there, but Anduin is not too happy about the SI:7's lack of reports.
Anduin Wrynn: <player>. Time grows short, and our spies have yet to uncover anything regarding N'Zoth's plans of attack.
Anduin Wrynn: We must take action against the Old God before it is too late. Report to Stormwind Keep at once.
Master Mathias Shaw: I'm afraid I have little to report, my king.
Anduin Wrynn: Then what is SI:7 doing, Shaw?
After you talk to Anduin, an in-game event happens, and Wrathion shows up together with Magni. Magni then asks for a favor to Anduin in
: To have the mace he created, Fearbreaker, back. Fearbreaker was a mace made by Magni and given to Anduin. Anduin tried to give it to Baine, who did not think he was worthy of wielding the mace, and now it finally returns to its crafter. After giving Magni his hammer back, we return to the Chamber of Heart in
В самом сердце
Wrathion: Well, that was a pleasant reunion. <player>, I will await you in Silithus.
Magni Bronzebeard: Sorry to spring that on ye, lad. But before we go, I have a favor tae ask.
Anduin Wrynn: Anything, old friend.
Magni Bronzebeard: I'm gonna be needin' me hammer.
Anduin Wrynn: Fearbreaker. Though I was honored to have it bestowed upon me, I am relieved that you have come to claim it.
Anduin Wrynn: I feel I was never able to live up to its legacy. Even Baine thought himself unworthy to wield it.
Magni Bronzebeard: Nonsense, lad. I wouldna given it tae ye if ye dinnae deserve it!
Anduin Wrynn: No, Magni. Fearbreaker belongs in the hands of a Mountain King.
Magni Bronzebeard: Ah, it's good tae feel the heft of a hammer again.
Magni Bronzebeard: Come, Champion! We've got work tae do!
In the Chamber of Heart, we accept
, where MOTHER diagnoses all titan facilities in Azeroth. An issue is eventually found in Uldum, where the Forge of Origination resides.
Magni Bronzebeard: MOTHER has connected the Chamber of Heart tae all known titan facilities on Azeroth.
Magni Bronzebeard: First things first. Let's make sure they're all workin' as intended.
MOTHER: Accessing facility. Designation: Uldir.
MOTHER: Facility dormant. Residual Old God corruption within acceptable parameters.
Magni Bronzebeard: Given how much corruption it used tae have, I'd say that's good news.
MOTHER: Accessing facility. Designation: Uldaman.
MOTHER: Discs of Norgannon intact. Records of unauthorized access not found.
Wrathion: It is not knowledge that N'Zoth seeks. The rise of Ny'alotha would erase all that we once were.
MOTHER: Accessing facility. Designation: Ulduar.
MOTHER: Forge of Wills currently operational. Observer unit Algalon confirms complete absence of notable activity.
Wrathion: In other words, he's bored. Cheeky.
MOTHER: Accessing facility. Designation: Uldum.
MOTHER: Error: Forge of Origination currently inactive.
Magni Bronzebeard: Inactive? What happened tae it?
MOTHER: Unable to determine root cause of deactivation.
Wrathion: I think we can all safely assume what this "root cause" might be.
Magni Bronzebeard: This is not good...
The Halls of Origination
Once MOTHER goes through with her diagnosis, we head to Uldum to meet with Magni in
. We then enter the Halls of Origination to reboot the Forge of Origination in
. The Amathet have re-enabled many traps within the Halls of Origination, so we must fight our way through the dungeon to disable said traps and make our way to the elevator.
Once we reach the elevator within the Maker's Rise, Magni discovers it is powerless, and sends us to the conduct room where there are many power sources, including one that re-activates the elevator on the first left exit and one that will reoriginate all of Azeroth on the second left exit. You must first locate the elevator console, then toggle consoles in the room to divert power to the elevator. Once the full power is diverted, an Amathet will try to stop you, but it is actually a faceless one in disguise! Once you defeat them, N'Zoth will approach you for a second, Gift or no Gift.
Magni Bronzebeard: If we can figure out which one controls the lift, we can reroute power tae it and get it workin' again.
Magni Bronzebeard: Ah, this is the lift's console! If we reroute the power here, we can get her runnin'!
Magni Bronzebeard: That should do it!
Sun Prophet Tenhamen: Flesh cursed! Your kind are unworthy of the titans' gifts.
Sun Prophet Tenhamen: You have tainted this place long enough. Fall before the Amathet!
Sun Prophet Tenhamen: Time and again, you have failed to protect the titans' works.
Sun Prophet Tenhamen: Now you will burn!
Sun Prophet Tenhamen: I grow tired of this ruse...
Shith'rus the Manipulator: Gaze upon the face of your world's demise!
Shith'rus the Manipulator: Zaix qwaz oou ryiu ez ywaq awtgsSh yoq'al
Shith'rus the Manipulator: The black dream... wakes in this world...
Shith'rus the Manipulator: Oou hnakf ag'rr vorzz zz agth fhssh
N'Zoth: Such misplaced zeal. A pity the Amathet do not see the truth.
N'Zoth: Not like you. My devoted champion.
Magni Bronzebeard: Champion, are ye there? I thought we lost ye fer a second...
Magni Bronzebeard: If N'Zoth's minions are inside the Forge, then this is worse than we thought.
Magni Bronzebeard: We have tae hurry! Come on!
We then return to the elevator and with the help of Magni and MOTHER, reactivate the Forge of Origination. After all conduits are turned on, another awesome in-game event happens, and the Forge will be turned on again!
Magni Bronzebeard: Here we are! I'll contact the Chamber of Heart.
MOTHER: Connection received. Please confirm elimination of hostile entities.
Magni Bronzebeard: We took care o' them, but not before N'Zoth gave the forge a beating.
MOTHER: Understood. Activate power terminals to commence system reboot.
MOTHER: Receiving signal. Error: Unable to access primary power conduits.
MOTHER: Direct circuit to Chamber of Heart require. Interface Heart of Azeroth with main console.
We are then sent to the Ramkahen in
, where we discuss with their leader, King Phaoris, how to defend the Forge of Origination and ensure it won't be attacked again. The Ramkahen ally with the Wastewanders of Tanaris and the Explorer's League to set a line of defense in Uldum in
. After this, Uldum assaults will be unlocked!
High Commander Kamses: Brigands! Your kind are not welcome here!
Arik Scorpidsting: We've come unarmed, and only seek an audience with the king.
King Phaoris: It would seem you are not the only ones.
King Phaoris: It is clear that Ramkahen cannot face these menaces alone.
King Phaoris: I propose an accord with those here today, that we band together and defend our home.
High Commander Kamses: You cannot be serious! I will not partner with graverobbers and bandits!
King Phaoris: You will obey your king. All who would fight for Uldum are allies of Ramkahen.
Arik Scorpidsting: The Wastewanders stand with you, King Phaoris.
High Explorer Dellorah says: The League's got your back, too!
King Phaoris: Very well. Together we will vanquish all who threaten our home. For Uldum!
The Engine of Nalak'sha
After completing an Uldum assault Magni will approach you to go the Chamber of Heart once more, in
Куй железо, пока горячо
. MOTHER will assess the situation: The Forge of Origination is working at a reduced capacity, but we cannot divert power from other titan facilities, as they are working full time to protect Azeroth. Instead, MOTHER suggests we use the Engine of Nalak'sha in Pandaria. We will head to Kun-Lai Summit to meet Magni in
Magni Bronzebeard: Yer back! Let's hear what MOTHER has tae say.
MOTHER: Forge operating at reduced capacity. Recommendation: Reroute power from compatible titan facilities.
Wrathion: So the Forge was not damaged beyond repair. How fortuitous. It is unlike N'Zoth to employ brute force...
Magni Bronzebeard: All o' the other forges are workin' full-time tae protect Azeroth. Is there anywhere else we can get that power?
MOTHER: Schematics indicate compatibility between Forge of Origination and Engine and Nalak'sha.
Magni Bronzebeard: That's it, then! Looks like we're headin' tae Pandaria!
As we arrive at the entrance to Mogu'shan Vaults, a battle seems to have happened between the Mogu and the Mantid, with a Mogu still standing and willing to talk to us - He tells us that the Mantid are trying to reach the Engine of Nalak'sha and we must stop them. As the Mogu starts leading the way, we're ambushed by Mantid!
Magni Bronzebeard: Careful, hero! One of these mogu is still kickin'!
Mogu Warrior: Honored Speaker... I... would have words with you...
Magni Bronzebeard: Ye... what? Well... that's peculiar.
Mogu Warrior: We must... make haste... the mantid--
Amber-shaper Gokilak: Foolish mogu! These vaults now belong to the Empress!
Amber-shaper Gokilak: Your allies will die with you!
Amber-shaper Gokilak: Our swarms... are endless...
Magni Bronzebeard: Ach, what are we gonna do now?
Mogu Warrior: Find... my clan...
Magni Bronzebeard: Hmm. If this mogu's clan is anything like him... Maybe they'd be willin' tae help us.
Magni Bronzebeard: I dunnae know the first thing about mogu clan sigils. But I bet Lorewalker Cho does! I'll meet yet at the Seat of Knowledge.
Lorewalker Cho: Ah, champion! Just as new dangers threaten Pandaria, her heroes make a triumphant return!
Lorewalker Cho: This will surely be a tale to remember. But enough prattling. How can I help?
After we defeat the Mantid, the Mogu Warrior gives us a mysterious sigil and tells us to find his clan, which we bring to Lorewalker Cho in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in
. Lorewalker Cho then begins researching mogu clans in
, telling us the story after we defeated Lei Shen in the Throne of Thunder, eventually coming to the conclusion that the mogu warrior belongs to the Rajani mogu clan, an ancient clan that served Ra-den on his time as a keeper.
Lorewalker Cho: As you know, the mogu clans were once again united by the ressurrected Thunder King, Lei Shen.
Lorewalker Cho: After his defeat, the mogu splintered and began warring for dominance. Many new clans arose from the ashes.
Lorewalker Cho: Perhaps this sigil belongs to one of them. Let's begin our search with my copy of "The Serpent Masters".
Lorewalker Cho: With their command over storm and serpent, many consider the Zan-Tien the dominant clan... though the others surely disagree.
Lorewalker Cho: However, I see nothing pertaining to our mysterious sigil. Perhaps my copy of "Power through Blood" holds the answer...
Lorewalker Cho: Masters of blood magic, the Dokani bolster their ranks powerful war machines fueled by the life essence of those they conquer.
Lorewalker Cho: Hmm. This looks nothing like the sigil, though. See if you can find a copy of "Will of Stone".
Lorewalker Cho: Stubborn and prideful, the Baruk use the spirits of the dead to animate the statues littering their ruins and turn them into immortal soldiers.
Lorewalker Cho: The sigil does not appear here, either. Could be we've not encountered these mogu before?
Lorewalker Cho: Wait... there is one more tome we could search. Bring me a copy of "The Origins of the Mogu".
Lorewalker Cho: Originally, the mogu served the titans as builders and guardians. Those who answered to Highkeeper Ra-den were known as the "Rajani".
Lorewalker Cho: Remarkable! This sigil matches that of the Rajani! Is it possible that this ancient clan has been ressurrected? And what of Ra-den?
We then head to Mistfall Village in
, where we kill Mogu for a scouting report. The Scouting Report tells us that the Rajani are holed up by the Silent Sanctuary overlooking Mistfall Village, so we go there to find them in
, but we are stopped by the Rajani Stormspeaker Qian until we show him the mysterious sigil.
Stormspeaker Qian: Halt, outsider. Your kind are not welcome here.
Magni Bronzebeard: Is that how ye address the Speaker of Azeroth?
Stormspeaker Qian: The Speaker? What is the meaning of this?
You appear to walk with the Speaker, so I will allow you words.
Make them quick. The Rajani have little patience for meddlers.
> <Show Stormspeaker Tian the sigil>
How did you obtain this?
> He was slain by the mantid and told me to seek you out.
Then his mission has failed. It is as we've feared.
It was not Tsuo's place to send you to us, but your arrival presents an opportunity that has until now been closed to us.
Walk with me, and I will explain.
Another awesome in-game event happens, and we're allowed entrance into the Silent Sanctuary... where Ra-den is! However, Ra-den has been despondent about the threat looming over Azeroth.
Ra-den: You waste your energy worrying over the vaults, Qian. The threat that is coming will consume us all.
Ra-den: You only work to delay the inevitable.
Stormspeaker Qian: Try as I might, I cannot reach him...
Ah, the champion of Azeroth. I should've expected that you'd show up in the vale soon enough.
Why have you disturbed my peaceful exile?
> I need the Engine of Nalak'sha to safeguard Azeroth from N'Zoth's corruption.
I have heard the whispers. I know what evil is upon us.
I'm afraid the coming darkness is too great even for you to bear. It took the combined might of all the Keepers and their creations to imprison the Old Gods during the time of the Black Empire.
With the Pantheon gone and the Keepers scattered, what hope do you have to prevail?
After this, assaults in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms are unlocked, and we must convince Ra-den to listen to us in
by bringing a token of the Black Empire, obtained by completing an assault. After completing the assault and bringing proof of your deed to Ra-den, he reveals a secret: All Pandaria titan facilities are connected! You will then enter Mogu'shan Palace to find a secret passage to the Mogu'shan Vaults in
. This will not be easy, though, as Mogu'shan Palace is also full of traps, including those floor traps that became a common sight within Pandaria.
After you get through the Palace and find the secret way to Mogu'shan Vaults, the raid will be overtaken by N'Zoth's minions! After cleansing the manifestations of N'Zoth, he will taunt you once more.
Magni Bronzebeard: Been a while since I've had tae walk for this long...
Magni Bronzebeard: Wait, I think we're here! Now let's find the Engine!
Magni Bronzebeard: What in the name of Azeroth is goin' on here?
Depthcaller Xith'el: Intruders have breached the vaults!
Depthcaller Xith'el: The Deep One... returns...
Magni Bronzebeard: I, I should've known the mantid would throw their lot in with N'Zoth!
Magni Bronzebeard: They're tryin' tae corrupt the Vaults! We cannae let that happen!
N'Zoth: Do you feel the frenzy of the swarm?
N'Zoth: They know what is coming. They know you will be its herald.
Magni Bronzebeard: Champion? Are ye still with me?
Magni Bronzebeard: I'm startin' tae worry about ye. But right now, we have tar focus on the Engine. Come on!
After delving all the way to the Engine of Nalak'sha and cleansing it from corruption, Magni manages to connect it to the Chamber of Heart. The plan worked! We then return to Ra-den, who seems slightly hopeful now, and returns to the Chamber of Heart with us in
Magni Bronzebeard: Nicely done, hero! Now tae get this thing runnin' again!
Magni Bronzebeard: Well, that's a good sign!
Magni Bronzebeard: Ouch! That stung.
Magni Bronzebeard: Wait a minute... I think I've got access!
Magni Bronzebeard: Reactivatin' the Engine now. Let me see if I can find a console or somethin' for ye...
Magni Bronzebeard: There we go! Ye can use that console tae connect us tae the Chamber of Heart.
MOTHER: Remote link established. Awaiting circuit completion.
Magni Bronzebeard: Hold yer horses, this thing didn't exactly come with instructions.
Magni Bronzebeard: Wait... it all makes sense now! Connectin' the power circuit!
Magni Bronzebeard: What's this? Interestin'... I'll remember that fer later.
Magni Bronzebeard: We did it, hero! The Forge is drawin' power from the Engine o' Nalak'sha!
Magni Bronzebeard: And... I found somethin' in the archives that could turn the tide against N'Zoth!
Magni Bronzebeard: Come on, let's get back tae the Highkeeper!
Ra-den: An intriguing discovery, Speaker. If the mogu have learned how to focus the Forge's energies...
Magni Bronzebeard: Aye, it means we can use the Forge against N'Zoth without reoriginatin' the entire world!
Ra-den: Hmm. Perhaps I should observe this myself.
Upon returning to the Chamber of Heart, Ra-den is marvelled at its construction, mentioning it was likely made by the Titanic Watcher Archaedas.
Ra-den: Such a magnificent facility! It looks to be of Archaedas's make.
Ra-den: Odd that I was unaware of its existence.
MOTHER: Knowledge of chamber restricted to sigma-level clearance. Proximity to world soul requires additional safeguards.
Magni Bronzebeard: Aye, we only found this place because Azeroth herself showed us the way!
Magni Bronzebeard: But we can save the tour for later. We have a world tae save!
Powering the Forge of Origination
MOTHER and Magni start talking about his plan: using the Forge of Origination to strike at N'Zoth without reoriginating all of Azeroth in
Активация протокола питания
. This will require putting anchors close to N'Zoth... which means a trip to the very heart of the Black Empire, Ny'alotha. However, MOTHER is unable to start the Forge, as there is still some anomalies. As the Ramkahen haven't requested back-up, it is theorized that we go there to see whats going on, which we do in
Magni Bronzebeard: MOTHER, can ye tell us how tae focus the Forge's energies against N'Zoth?
MOTHER: Analyzing data recovered from Engine of Nalak'sha.
MOTHER: Affirmative. Precision execution of Origination Protocol possible via remote triangulation.
Magni Bronzebeard: And what does this "triangulation" entail?
MOTHER: Successful deployment of calibrated targeting anchors requires proximity to source of contamination.
Wrathion: In other words, we need to place these anchors close to N'Zoth himself. Which means braving the very heart of the Black Empire.
Magni Bronzebeard: Anyone setting foot inside that accursed place would be driven to madness!
Wrathion: There is always a way. The rest of you see to the Forge. Leave the problem of Ny'alotha to me.
Magni Bronzebeard: I dunnae know what ye have up yer sleeve, lad... but all right. Let's fire it up!
MOTHER: Restoring Forge of Origination to full functionality.
MOTHER: Rerouting power from Engine of Nalak'sha to inactive systems.
MOTHER: Warning: Unidentified anomaly detected. Forge reactivation incomplete.
Wrathion: Champion. Pay close attention to this... anomaly, would you?
As we enter the Halls of Origination in
, the dungeon is seemingly alright, until it starts caving in right in your position! Thankfully, MOTHER intervenes and teleports us to safety, deeper within the dungeon. We're teleported to the Tomb of the Earthrager, where Magni establishes a new teleport for us.
Magni Bronzebeard: Look out, <player>! The ceiling's cavin' in!
Magni Bronzebeard: The entrance is blocked! We're trapped!
MOTHER: Scanning for structurally stable areas within Halls of Origination.
Magni Bronzebeard: We'll be dead 'fore she can finish! We've got tae get out of here!
MOTHER: Acceptable destination identified. Commencing emergency evacuation.
Magni Bronzebeard: Ohh, I know this place. Brann's talked me ear off 'bout it!
Magni Bronzebeard: Over here!
Magni Bronzebeard: Now then, let's get on with it.
MOTHER: Teleportation device detected.
We can see a faint anomaly in the distance... but things get worse and worse when we approach it. As we interact with it, we're sent to a horrific vision of N'Zoth! MOTHER saves us before our sanity can fully deplete, bringing us back to the Chamber of Heart.
Magni Bronzebeard: Look! Across the sand! That must be the anomaly!
Wrathion: I believe this warrants further investigation, <player>. Proceed with caution.
Magni Bronzebeard: Do ye feel that? Somethin's wrong...
Magni Bronzebeard: Are ye sure about this?
Wrathion: <player>! Can you hear me?
Wrathion: You must try to resist! Do not give in!
Wrathion: MOTHER! Get them out! NOW!
MOTHER: Initiating evacuation protocol.
Wrathion: A vision of N'Zoth made manifest. My suspicions of the anomaly's origin were correct.
Magni Bronzebeard: Ye knew this would happen and ye intentionally put our champion at risk?!
Wrathion: I had complete confidence that they would return unscathed. Clearly, I was correct about that as well.
Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve
With Wrathion's suspicions correct, he proposes us to go to Blackwing Descent to help us gain resistance against N'Zoth's visions in
. In there, Wrathion's worst fears are realized... N'Zoth's minions have seized the facility, and are using it to experiment on dragonflights.
Wrathion: As I feared... N'Zoth's forces have seized Nefarian's lair.
Wrathion: Make haste, <player>. There can be only one reason they are here.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: You will serve the master, or die!
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: Ah, the Black Prince. It is such an honor finally to meet you.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: Behold the work of your fallen kin, and know that his efforts will not go to waste.
Wrathion is unfazed, though, and we descent further into the raid, defeating more of N'Zoth's horrors. As we reconvene with Wrathion, we defend him while he dispells the last barrier, leading to the room where Atramedes used to be at.
As we enter the Athanaeum, we meet with Vexiona and Dark Inquisitor Xanesh once more. Wrathion is taken by Xanesh! We're left to fend for ourselves against the chromatic dragons.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: At last, the Black Prince graces us with his presence.
Vexiona: The black dragonflight was unworthy of the master's gifts. But you can still be of use to him.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: Your father could not resist the Old Gods, little whelp. What made you think you would fare any better?
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: We knew it would be easy to lure you here. Your obsession with your dragonflight's legacy will be your downfall.
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh: With your essence, we will raise Nefarian and Onyxia in service of N'Zoth. The black dragonflight will darken the skies once more!
Wrathion: I will see you burn for this!
After we free Wrathion, he sends Xanesh away and lowers the lava in the lower portion of Blackwing Descent, where the remains of Onyxia and Nefarian are revealed. We gather corrupted scales from them, then burn their remains once for all, preventing the dragons from ever being raised again. After the deed is done, we return to the Chamber of Heart. As we return to the Chamber of Heart, Wrathion uses his brother and sister's scales to craft a cloak that will help us withstand the effects of sanity reduction:
Ашжра'камас, Покров Решимости
With the cloak equipped, it is time to face the Halls of Origination anomaly once more. MOTHER returns us there in
Deeper Into the Darkness
, where we attempt to fix the anomaly from before. The cloak allows us to be much more resilient to sanity loss, but we must still rush - It does not half sanity loss completely! Make your way back to the Forge of Origination and kill the cultist there to cleanse the anomaly. After MOTHER reestablishes connection, you will be returned to the Chamber of Heart. With the anomaly cleared and knowledge gained, Wrathion and MOTHER open a portal to one of N'Zoth's horrific visions in
Opening the Gateway
, thus unlocking Horrific Visions.
Wrathion decides that although allowing corruption to spread is not a good idea, it might help us prepare for the future, so he sends us to a horrific vision in
Descending Into Madness
. You will explore a vision of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, fully overtaken by N'Zoth. The quest only requires you to zone into the vision, and you can leave as soon as you want. You can also explore the vision a bit, but be mindful you will not be able to withstand it for long, even with the legendary cloak equipped. Once you're done with the vision, return to the Chamber of Heart.
Wrathion will then show you another vision in
Into the Darkest Depths
. You can now choose whether you want to see the Horrific Visions of Stormwind or Orgrimmar, and learn a bit more about Horrific Visions. Again, the only objective here is to zone into the vision, and you can leave at any time.
Attack on the Heart Forge
When you return to the Heart Forge, Magni tells you that N'zoth has found a way in. You can find and click on a N'zoth eyeball and you're tasked with defending the Heart Forge.
When you return, you unlock the remainder of Horrific Vision upgrade system, unlock Legendary Cloak upgrades and get a quest to defeat N'zoth in the raid.
