French Translation of 9.1 Questline Reveals Interesting Elune Mention (Spoilers)
10 дн. назад
Patch 9.1 teased a potential mention of Elune last week on the PTR, and there's additional dialogue in the French version that reveals more information.
questline that we covered a few days ago had some hints about a possible link between Elune and the Venthyr, but an additional line in the French translation of the questline gives us the smoking gun.
Let's talk about what we know:
The Venthyr and the Naaru
We know that the Venthyr have encountered the Naaru already.
We rescue the Naaru
, Z'rali, from the Sanguine Depths where she was being held prisoner by Sire Denathrius' forces after a major battle in Revendreth between the Light and the Nathrezim. She was given the tower of Dawnkeep because she is unable to return home and the tower is saturated with the Light. Once we defeat Denathrius, Z'rali participates in his imprisonment.
After you complete the Sanguine Depths quest:
General Draven says: Z'rali is too weak to return to her home, and her very nature presents a danger to any venthyr in her presence.
General Draven says: Prince Renathal has bestowed the naaru authority over the tower of Dawnkeep. It is the place where her kind first emerged and is most saturated with the Light.
General Draven says: She should be in less pain there.
Elune and the Naaru
In Legion we completed the quest,
Богиня благоволит тебе
, in which Khadgar told us:
I was going through some ancient cosmology tomes when I stumbled upon a passage indicating that the prime naaru may have been created by Elune during the great ordering of Light and Shadow.
If Elune did create Xe'ra, then it stands to reason that we could use the Tears of Elune to unlock the secrets of Light's Heart.
We did get the Tear of Elune, and we did unlock Light's Heart as Khadgar predicted. It seems to follow therefore that his speculation was correct and Elune did in fact create the Naaru. This links Elune to the Naaru and also puts Elune in a place to have potentially been in direct contact with the Venthyr.
Here is what we will know - and this is 9.1 Spoilers:
The Venthyr and Elune - Hints in 9.1
The Unseen Guests questline, revealed some rather interesting things. The Unseen Guests in question are another of Sire Denathrius' creations, the nathrezim, aka the dreadlords. who he created to be the ultimate infiltrators. We have experienced this firsthand in Legion at Vol'jin's funeral where we found demons in the crowd. As we will learn in the questline, one of the nathrezim's incursions was discovered, and the Light destroyed the ward in Revendreth where the nathrezim made their home, in fact, "the full wrath of the Light fell upon Revendreth." This seems to be the creation of the Ember Ward. The Stonewright created the stoneborn to fight the Light, however when many of her children were destroyed she blamed the nathrezim rather than the Light and as a consequence the nathrezim were banished from the Shadowlands. Incidentally, the Stonewright is the holder of the Medallion of Wrath.
During the questline Prince Renethal has a very interesting line. Addressing the Stonewright, he says:
Prince Renathal: My dear Stonewright, Harvester of Wrath, wielder of Elu--
The Stonewright: Chelra the Bladewall. How have you been, my child?
What was Renethal planning to say? It looks an awful lot like he was going to say Elune...
...so here's some speculation:
Could the Medallion of Wrath have been created by the "full wrath of the Light" falling on Revendreth?
Did Denathrius and the Stonewright make a deal with Elune in which the nathrezim were banished and the Stonewright got the Medallion of Wrath?
Did the Stonewright switch sides and join Elune and the Light in this squabble?
Where does Z'rali as a prisoner of the Venthyr fit into the puzzle?
What we just learned:
The French Connection
The French version of the Unseen Guests questline on the 9.1 PTR has a line that is missing from the English version. French player
was kind enough to
It seems that in the French version of the PTR (9.1) , we have an additional sentence in the discussion between the Stonewright and Nal'ragas, I translate it for you: "Your stoneborn will never find us and your precious Elune has no power here."
This really seems to indicate that the Stonewright is in fact working with, and more than that, is a follower of, Elune. Maybe even the Medallion of Wrath is the Medallion of Light's Wrath. Or Elune's Wrath. Might Elune herself be our ace in the hole against the Jailer?
