I hope to cover and showcase some of the interesting topics, discussions, content and guides that have been going on over the last week in the gold making community. Some that you might have missed as a veteran gold maker, or you might be interested in checking out for the first time as a new or aspiring ‘goblin’.
The format will not be that of a traditional guide, but links to further reading with commentary and opinions of my own. I will be looking at the bigger picture, the decision making and thought processes in being a gold maker – rather than a step by step instructional list. As the saying goes, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.
Some hotfixes were implemented to the game recently that affect the gold-making community, a couple documented and also one 'stealth' change.
The most important change comes after discussions on the 7.3 Class Order Hall follower missions being less lucrative and more costly than before as

Well that's terribly disappointing so far. I'm still one armor piece off from my main's 950 set and it sounds like I won't be moving my team past the Krokuul level halls.
On the subject of Krokuul Halls, here's my day 23 gold sheet,

Noteable is the day 21 anomaly in which four characters posted all four Krokuul gold missions in a single 24 hour period. Mixed with other halls, the nine Hall team generated 62,028g that day.
Current total gold earned: 714,418.
Projected gold for the 7.3 60 day record: ~1,800,000.
Total gold for the 7.2 60 day record: ~690,000
The gold range for a Krokuul mission: 2097g to 2575g, with an average of ~2300. (This assumes 200%)

The dev team have often said that they never want to have a situation where it feels like a mistake to progress through an aspect of the game, so they dropped a hotfix to address that on October 4th:
Players no longer need to complete “The Seat of the Triumvirate” in the Argus storyline to unlock “The Ruins of Oronaar”, which allows further follower and mission progression.
Follower equipment that improves item level is more likely to appear from Argus missions, once “The Ruins of Oronaar” has been completed.
The final tier of Argus missions are now less difficult, reward more Veiled Argunite, and reward more bonus Gold.

, this item could originally be traded to other players and sold on the Auction House. It had a small chance to drop an Artifact Power token and was sought by players to empower their weapons. This particular item is now 'Bind-on-Acquire' so it cannot be sold to other players:

Over the last few weeks several content creators and goblins had been discussing a method of making gold which involved creating lots of Rogue

access to a weekly quest that they can complete for a raw gold reward
of . I decided not to cover this as I believed it to be bordering on the wrong side of exploiting game mechanics.
Evidently the developers agree and have made the quest inaccessible to Class Trial characters.
The ethics of Multiboxing was discussed at length this week, it's certainly an interesting subject because it has been made so accessible to the wider player base. Being able to purchase additional WoW licences and sustain their subscriptions entirely with in-game currency has opened up the idea of multiple accounts to people that may never have had the opportunity to consider it.

First, I want to state that, from my experience, multiboxing clearly provides an advantage. This is most evident with gathering (nodes since Legion allow ten hits per), but also presents itself with world quests and, for some, trash farming.
However, is this advantage truly unfair?
The practice is permitted by Blizzard (multiboxing, not botting, please note the distinction) and can be performed by anyone with a fast enough computer and desire/ability to initially finance it (copies of Legion and monthly subs).
do multiboxers truly ruin the economy?
For myself, I don't farm materials (herbs/ores) and simply dump them on the AH. When I am not lazy I farm raw mats to feed the professions I have, such as inscription or jewelcrafting. However, even if I am dumping the materials on the AH, how would that be ruining the economy? Most goblins, I believe, will tell you that profit is not made (in most markets) because their products are rare or unique, profit is made because they are able to undercut their competitors at the right time and at a right frequency. Just because I am able to undercut someone's listing with 200 stacks of starlight rose doesn't mean those stacks will sell if someone undercuts me by a copper.
can multiboxers be considered goblins?
This relates back to the first question and whether you believe there is an advantage to multiboxing and, significantly, if it provides an unfair advantage. I think my practice of multibox farming contributed, roughly, ten percent of my overall wealth. The rest has been buying low and selling high, and undercutting. Does that ten percent from the multiboxing advantage eliminate me from being considered a goblin?
As I mentioned, the accessibility of such opportunities to a wider audience makes it even less of an 'issue' today than it was in the early days of WoW. If it had some kind of arbitrary restriction on who could and who could not use multiple accounts at once it would be problematic,
I think it would be fair to claim that it's an unfair advantage if not everyone has the ability to 'exploit' it without breaking the rules. Really the only reasonable counter I can think of is, "But my computer can barely play as it is, I can't run the game twice." But that is an argument off 'fairness' beyond the scope of a video game and it's fake money.
In addition to the 'fake' money, it has very real impacts on generating real money for Blizzard,
Multiboxers also spend 5 times as much as a regular player, in perspective the input-output ratio is really similar. The advantages I have as multiboxer is BOE RNG, (unless I don't understand probabilities correctly) I as a player have more chance to get a BOE than a single player.
If I was to funnel all that gold to 1 account, that would be unfair. But since it is spent to play all 5 accounts (enchants, flasks, tokens) basically every toon is paying for his own stuff, just like a normal player would.
Also another advantage is being able to wipe WQ's and rares faster than anyone alone. Which in matter of gold per hour could show up for general drops. (i love farming cloth in Suramar)
/u/Hellortha argues that the developers have been quite accommodating with features that help multiboxers too
They've implemented many things for Multiboxers, such as the interact Keybind, assist macros, click to move.
(Also sharing Hierloom/Mounts/Transmogs/Quests)
Sure normal people can use them, but how many people actually use these aside from Multiboxers? I didn't even know 2/3 of them existed until I started.
If Blizz deems something unacceptable they will deal with it... that's why they removed /Follow from BG's because they understood Multiboxers could be a pain for other players there.

As a player who multiboxes, I myself do think multiboxing is inherently unfair. However, it has been confirmed time and again to be allowed by blizz, and one has to make a substantial investment before it pays itself off. Which is why I made the step into multiboxing. You basically x5 your income if you multibox farm, so obviously it is unfair if you compare it to a single farmer.
However, I would draw an analogy to goblins starting another licence for an AH alt. Now this activity is widely accepted by the goblin community. It also gives unfair advantage for non-licence users, who can't park a character at AH 24/7 and play at thee same time. But most people accept it as well, because it requires effort, investment, and also not many people actually do it.
TSM users is another example - TSM is like air to goblins, and no serious goblin can do without one. Learning it and using it gives one a great unfair advantage to normal players using the default auction house, and things like sniping would be impossible.
Where does this get us? The world is never fair, and effort will be rewarded, whether in the real world, or the virtual world. There no point in arguing about unfairness in economics, where as long as it is legal, businesses and individuals who find the most efficient way to conduct their business will always come out ahead out of the other 1000s in the marketplace. After all, the fundamental concept of economics lie in the term "Comparative Advantage", and anyone who does not have the relevant 'advantage' will cry foul and call it being unfair.
My conclusion? I think multiboxing is unfair. But it is also legal. And when you can't beat them, join them, to be efficient with your time/farm ratio.

The Undermine Journal Updates

, and former Data Wrangler at Wowhead.com, has put out some updates to his site recently. I wanted to note them down for those that may have missed them.
The first minor change is based on pricing now ignoring the breed of Battle Pets, if you're using TUJ to track your cross-server pet arbitrage this may affect you.
EnigmaticClarity explains why it's not important
All I sell is pets and mounts on five realms, and in my experience 95% of people who buy pets could care less about breed or level. The vast majority of the market is "gotta catch 'em all!", not pet battle min/maxers. Pet battling is too mundane for most people to care about it in much depth. I used to try to price different breeds and levels differently, but it didn't take long to realize it wasn't worth the time and storage. The number of people who really, really want that rare S/S Darkmoon Rabbit is so small that it isn't worth it to wait for those buyers. I firmly believe that almost everyone ignores breed, and they only look at level as a slight bonus.
The TSM guys decided to ignore the whole breed/level thing in their handling of pets, and that was the right call.
is a great pet-centric site, and they, too, mostly ignore breed/spec. They show it in the detailed info on a pet, but it doesn't factor into their comparative pet collecting registry at all.
Erorus expanded upon the Top Sellers feature on the site to show rankings based on various stats and values
Here's what the fields mean. All numbers include both item and pet auctions. When I say "this auction house", I mean all the auctions posted on this realm (and connected realms).
This seller has 353 auctions posted right now. When ranked with other sellers in this auction house, they are 18th in highest number of auctions currently posted.
The sum of all the buyouts (plus bids on auctions with no buyout set) for this seller's current auctions is 8,322,667g. When ranked with other sellers in this auction house, they are 4th in highest total asking price.
The sum total of this auction house's market price for all the items & pets (multiplied by auction quantity) currently posted by this seller is 8,259,552g. When ranked with other sellers in this auction house, they are 4th in highest total market price.
The sum total of this region's median market price for all the items & pets (multiplied by auction quantity) currently posted by this seller is 3,672,293g. When ranked with other sellers in this auction house, they are 4th in highest total region price.
Next up, you can click the column headers on both the Sellers page and the

Finally, you can now 'favourite' particular servers. If you're playing on a couple of different realms you can now favourite them and navigate between them easily:
