This should be interesting... I wonder if they have thought out the idea that someone out there will be stupid enough to pay for it, and then flame the ally/horde about how bad said faction is, then just switch back later. That might be a problem for a bit.
woho now i can change my gnome mage to a undead mage :D finally
The story possibilities are kind of interesting. Especially any transitions from the alive to the undead. The Atkins Switcher will at last be possible :)
A lot of people are saying this is stupid, is it really a bad idea or is it just the usual wow community resistance to any positive change? This could also be used to help the realms where one faction outnumbers the other immensely, and help people who want to play with friends of the opposite faction. I really don't see how me getting to play with some real life friends i didn't have access to play with before is hurting your game playJust because a small sect of people want this game to be stupidly time consuming as it was in vanilla doesn't mean they should take this game back to the stone ages.
I saw the clouds of this coming on the horizon when Blizzard implemented identical faction rewards on both sides (IE: Argent Tournament gear). It seemed even more possible when they said they were basically shoring up factions that had fewer mounts than others to be even, basically making it so that every Alliance/Horde mount has a cross-faction equal.I am not surprised at all, and I think it's been in the works for quite some time. However, the real thing I am interested in his how they will handle old quests and rewards. A level 80 25-man geared Orc who has never done a single thing for the Horde is rather amusing.
