Thank you Kanye, very cool
Yikes, hunting dead accounts now that so many have unsubscribed? As much as I want people to come back and enjoy the game, I felt awful inviting my friends for the new expac, having them spend money, only for it to be a mega disappointment to them.
Big yikes to be honest.
Not all inactive! My account has had no subscription lapse in years but I can't afford the expansion right now (Plus the reduced content increased price CE I usually get happened) and still got this in my gifts this morning. Not gonna grumble at 3 days free time so gonna give it a shufty over the weekend most likely.
That's not helping driving people shouting about how dead this game is away.
This is called "desperation." As we saw they went from 3.4 million subs to 1.7 million in 60 days. No wonder we had the AMAs, Q&As, promises of changes (that never come) and now this. They're doing everything except the one thing that needs to happen - getting rid of Ion. That's the elephant in the room. There's no way with his negative attitude that this product can succeed. I can't even imagine the amount of quality talent he has run off in the past 3-4 years.
I think the time for testing should've been in beta TBH. And come on, do you even care that players "test" your game after continuously dodging player concerns?\r\rMost desperate move in years.

We've seen them double and triple down on terrible decisions at this point, why would that be any different? At this point, they're going to keep bleeding subscriptions and gestures like these - while nice, especially for players that can't afford the game - are not going to make a difference, ultimately.
Sweet, Im gonna go invite my friends to play Warlords of Drae--- i mean, Battle for Azeroth

Back then everybody wanted to get rid of GC because he was the one who stood out and talked to the players on behalf of the whole team. They believed GC is to blame for everything and if he leaves the game will be better. Guess what? They were wrong. Now it is Ion, its easy to hate the only people you see, but you always forget that this game is not created by a single person. Even if they would replace him the game direction wouldn't change for years. I don't say the game is in a good place or that Ion is doing a good job, but expecting everything to change just because they would replace one person is foolish.
That's not helping driving people shouting about how dead this game is away.\r\rYou ok there? \r\r\rI think they're saying this isn't helping the case AGAINST this game dying. As so many doomsayers are claiming. I'm trying myself not to be one of them, but this move is very telling.

You don't believe that Ion coming out and doubling down on all of the crap decisions that have been made with this new expansion is him speaking as a leader over at Blizzard, but a PR rep instead? \r\rSomeone over there is derailing this expansion by ignoring floods of feedback (since the beta) and all signs point to Ion.
if you dont have bfa, you can make a trial character and do the new races quests. got 4 unlocked already
Just sad, maybe instead of getting NEW people in, try keeping the CURRENT people subed... pathetic
It's not only a matter of "bad decisions" in development... Also lore has become trash. I've played forsakens for 9 years, BfA took away any interest I had in my favourite faction... I liked the zandalaris, but well... They had to kill the most important characters. There's been a LOT of complaints about the path the lore is taking, but no... They're convinced that everything is excellent, and we are loving it guys!
This is why they need to demote Ion azz

Also, you are totally aware that the part you wrote about subscribers going down to 1.7mil is not a fact? The user, WeakAura, who posted it, revised it and said the data is only including US users using WeakAura. You can\u2019t lie about this and throw it around as a fact when it\u2019s not. Think logically.
This expansion needs more beta testers for sure.
lol

As much as I want people to come back and enjoy the game, I felt awful inviting my friends for the new expac, having them spend money, only for it to be a mega disappointment to them.\r\rMaaaan, I get you so much. I convinced my best friend, that I always play coop games with to try out WoW. I was pretty confident that he is going to like, after I myself played at the end of Legion, but as you could guess, BfA turned out to be much worse that Legion. He stopped playing a month ago, quitting out of frustration from all the PvP-scaling in Arena (now we know, that keeping your ilvl as low as possible is best). I also unsubbed now, but it makes me feel really ashamed, especially because my friend was afraid of "wasting over 80 bucks" while I was so confident when asking him to buy BfA.
