I don't see why people nag that melee get easy mode. It's tactics like these that force people to have a very limited melee roster to begin with. Every tactic that forces melee away from a boss is a reason why a ranged will be preferred for that particular boss. Look at Fetid and G'huun for example. Mythrax was also one of them before this change. All of them are fights that punish you for having more than 4-5 melee. There is literally no fight in the game that does that for range.

I think the timming is wrong, as a melle we got our mythic kill last night and i was getting chosen by the orb after 7 pst

It's a meme at this point. Ion's guild just started pulling Mythrax (10 pulls this week).They hotfix Mythrax a mere day or two after that. People saying holy paladin counts as melee, I dunno it was pretty consistent in Legion except maybe Aggramar, but I've noticed ranged mechanics targeting me first a few times, especially in dungeons with 3 melee dps, things like homing missile on motherlode final boss will target melee if there isnt a ranged too. It's likely trying this on mythrax will end up with a bunch of mc'd healers even if they are pally or monk. Holy pally is not as safe from ranged mechanics as it used to be.
I can understand the complaints from Ranged players, and wonder if this was overcompensating, but it was an issue. Our guild had a lot of good players who mained melee characters, and we lost about two, maybe 3 weeks of raiding time while half of them were leveling ranged alts. Zero melee orbs is a bit much, I don't know if like maybe a ratio, where 1/5 end up on melee, but even if you were trying to move the boss around, you just couldn't fight him with too many melee before. Either that, or make a mechanic that doesn't bring up these kinds of issues.

wooo the trolling options of mages standing in melee can now still hit melee!well this should be nice, for guilds already downing this boss its a quality of life thing, they can bring more melee to get sat for only g'huun! (which is more melee friendly than this boss as you can just send them to do orbs in p2 as they should as they all have great movement abilities)
I can see the difficulty on Mythic, with the addition of the add, but I don't believe this large of a nerf needed to be implemented on the lower difficulties...melee have plenty of room to spread, Mythrax's hitbox is huge. My raid already stacks melee pretty heavily, and more often than not, it's the ranged that get into trouble, and it's the melee who consistently top the charts. Apart from Mythic difficulty, this was not needed.Everyone also needs to chill with the name-calling, please. Range have a legitimate reason to be upset in this instance, with the loss of melee targeting, ranged players will get hit more often, and that not only incurs a loss on their dps, but also of anyone who has to move to get them out... On the other hand, melee have a legitimate reason to think they have a disadvantage to begin with in some raid compositions. However, that's more the fault of whoever organizes your raid, don't take it out on everyone else.
