More stability sounds good!
Comments were temporarily broken with some site updates, they're back to normal now! Thought it was odd nobody left comments on Azerite :)
Nothing more permanent than adding a ton of hair and beard options to the barber. Hope they do this someday...As for the Azerite, well... the system is not such a memorable thing at all for me.
So, I guess either this week or next for 8.2 then?
I don't think he is a bad dev, I understand his reasoning but he might just "overthink" things a bit too much, it's a game after all and "short term fun" isn't really a bad thing (not saying I haven't fun with that game, otherwise I wouldn't play it, but just in terms of new class skills etc., there could have been more fun)
I agree that they should focus more on permanent additions. It feels like a huge shame to have so much work put into each expansion get totally thrown out after. It's why I've always been WAY more excited for things like race and class additions. And why allied races and more customization is cool. Azerite, islands, warfronts, etc may all be gone one day, but Zandalari and Dark Iron will stay. Artifacts and legiondaries are gone but I can still play a demon hunter and get class mounts.I hope they add more features with permanent benefit, and do more to make old content relevant. I'd take any good excuse to go back to old zones, run old content. WoW has probably had more dev hours put into it than most other games in existence, I wish so much of it wasn't made totally obsolete.
Short term Vs long has been the story of this entire expansion's woes for me and my friends, but for story not gameplay. It's clear that the BFA story is a "tune in next episode" format to a degree with higher stakes than ever, and this isn't really the medium for that sort of story. I've never been more glued to the story with legit worry than in BFA. They are teasing something the game has needed for a long time (an at-least-optional bridge between friends playing factionally opposed races) and while this content cadence is arguably still very impressive for an MMO this big, the story pace has been abysmal with such trust-affirming (or destroying) stakes. We have spent way too long in an uncomfortable present laying the groundwork for a potentially much more comfortable future. This just isn't the medium for that sort of story, the uncomfortable months also cost subscription money. Legion didn't have this tension, it was always going to be "you defeat the demons, because duh, this is a heroic fantasy story," but that tug of war between not so much alliance and horde but more "please let me play with my friends despite factions" vs "this isn't world of Peacecraft" has been maddening in BFA.
Good responses. We'll have to see what they do to follow up. I am always glad to see Ion say they messed up.
honestly i'm 10000% up with the remove portal i think it was a really good ideea honestly it was a joke those portal just click click flip flip the game was not design like just take portals - blizzard you should not even stress with that change was a good one
Legion Artifacts had "Relics" for ilvl upgrades and added one more rank to ALREADY EXISTED traits and abilities on Artifact Weapon. Very few specs needed early in the game a specific trait to consider upgrade unless Relic was 15+ ilvl higher (Personal exp on that as BM Hunter). It NEVER took away the ability entirely that you had already unlocked grinding AP.Azerite system is far cry from that and AP grinding not only is more but "feels" even more because how less you get compare to Legion with multiple ranks and many more traits.
That's pure Marketing. Sell a faulty product, make millions out of it, give false promises to unhappy consumers, claim to fix the flaws, ... Still manage to sell FIXED product and so onGratz
So I've read the PC Gamer interview, and one thing concerns me:
This is Ion's pattern. Do a bunch of things. Defend. Double down. Defend. Deny. Triple Down. Backtrack or apologize or admit mistakes.
this its just a part of the problem - there are others problems...like talents i'm warrior and for 3-4 years i don't even touch second wind talents cause i force to play into defensive stance(that we are obligated to have that alliance shield we don't have even an xmog option maybe this its too much but still) the old talents system until pandaria was very good idk why the change it i mean evry expansion get new spells trough talents was amazing do you remember when u could play hybrid specs or like put talents in all three specs was amazing idk what they take away that talents system from players and instead they put six rows of talents that most of the times some classes or people they don't use that like for years or an entire expansion ..you guys forgot to mention this thing..
I would have been happy if they had stuck with artifact weapons.it was a neat way to add additional powers and talents to the game without having to constantly reset, respec
I like the fact he acknowledges all the recent mistakes, it's always a good start! Now i've seen Blizzard being sorry in the past and yet make the same mistakes, so I really hope things will go right this time.
