So I really like the three specializations--it's cool to have three (or 4) totally different classes to play, who have *some* similar abilities. Different rotations, different metas, different gear, different stat priorities, and of course, I really like not having the same fun and great ability that's awesome on one spec available to me on another spec, that's the best part of all.I admit I never ever will understand why Blizzard limited/pruned abilities at all. Give us everything and let us choose what we want to use. Some people will use everything, some people will keep pressing 11121112 and be happy? Why always limiting choices instead of opening up options? It's insane.
Good to hear they thought the pruning was a bit too much. Now give me back my aspects, eyes of the beast and Kill shot and I'll be a happy hunter.
Please do not unprune enhancement shaman...I am ok with not having to juggle 3-4 totems+utility+off healing. I like being able to just focus on dpsing
Exactly
Bit too late isn't it? We can expect these roll backs next expac, not next patch or any time soon. Ughh.
I know when he was talking about warriors he was referring to older class mechanics but I would like to see Gladiator come back. I never did get a chance to play with it that much in Warlords but it seemed kinda cool.
"They've talked a lot about class identity in the past, and they think that they've probably bolstered spec identity at the expense of class identity. They've probably gone too far away from that core choice on the character select screen, when a player decides if they want to be a hunter, mage or shaman. Ideally specialization should be just that, picking a facet that excites you the most and doubling down on that. For some classes right now, some specs are almost like an entirely different class, with entirely different abilities and a little bit of overlap. That is also something they'd like to pull back from. They want to go back to class identity as a foundation, potentially through taking some abilities that are now spec specific and spreading them back out even if they're off role. There's value in hybridity."6 years or so that I've been waiting to hear this from Blizzard, FINALLY, I hope they will actually work toward this.
Well this is all well and good, so can we get MoP era combat rogue spec back please Blizz? The pirate sh#* was fun for all of 5 minutes, so you can take the rtb and burn it too. k thnx :)
Next step is that they need to revamp the talent system. Since there is a level squish coming we should go back to having talent points, if not for every level than at least one every 2-3 levels. I don't mind if leveling takes longer if I have something to look forward too each few levels.15 levels is too much, especially when two of those talents are not even cool abilites but more cc/speed boost/self healing talents.I mean I'm not the designer here, I just feel the player base enjoyed the old talent system much more.
If it took Blizzard this long to acknowledge their complete pulverization of class identity, imagine how long it's going to take them to actually fix the problem with Ion at the helm.Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of fixing years worth of mistakes and horrible judgments, but Blizzard has a disastrous track record of claiming to listen to their player base then doing the exact opposite all the while shouting from the rooftops how great their new changes but in reality actually drowning out the cries of dismay from the community.Bring back the developers with firsthand knowledge of real class identity who both knew what they were doing and listened to the community.
Some classes like Frost DK barely have enough to fill up a bar while a few still can max out. I'm not saying every class needs 6 abilities no more or less, but even now you can get simple or complex(ish) classes. If they flipped back to vanilla level people would have no idea what to do so I would not expect sweeping changes.
Bring on Gladiator warriors again!
They were focused on button count as a measure of complexity? Good god. I don't even know what to say to that.
Meh.Class "uniqueness" is fine but I like being able to play what I want now, unique or not. This is the very reason why I won't be re-living the clusterfudge that is Classic. x)
I'm excited that they seem to be realizing that there's a lot of class identity in certain things, like warrior stances. I remember raiding Garalon in Heart of Fear during MoP, and my raid group had a hard time downing him... we were struggling with the dps. I suggested that we could one tank it and I could help take the cleave (I think it was) as a Fury Warrior by swapping to defensive stance and we could one tank it... this ended up working beautifully, and it was our strategy the whole time the raid was current content. I feel like things like that really make the game interesting, and I'd love to see them bring stances back, among other things.
It's essentially just a cosmetic, but give shaman their water breathing ability back. It was cool, it was harmless, it wasn't game-breaking in any capacity, and it was fun.
is it me or blizzard are very slow to understand the fans!
