Get Shadowmeld Through Night Fae Covenant Soulbinds in Shadowlands - The Sylvari Mantle
Shadowlands

One of the Night Fae Soulbind Traits gives you the power to drop combat, just like the Night Elf racial Shadowmeld! Players who have watched the Mythic Dungeon International or have a Night Elf character will probably know the power of Shadowmeld, especially in Mythic+ content.
Which Soulbind Do I Need to Be to Get Shadowmeld?
In order to get the Night Fae version of
Shadowmeld
, players must be part of the Night Fae Covenant, and have the
Niya Soulbind
equipped.
You must then have the top left trait active,
, which is linked to an Endurance Conduit slot.
How Does Sylvari Mantle Work
Sylvari Mantle will allow you to do the same things as Shadowmeld, including skipping past difficult trash in Mythic+, dropping threat or dropping combat in the open World.
- When Soulshape ends, you are concealed until you move.
Once the trait is picked, here's how it works.
When
Soulshape
is removed (either by time or clicking it off), it'll apply a 2.5 second debuff
. During this time, you are not stealthed yet.
Once this second buff falls off,
is applied and you will become stealthed and attempt to drop combat with any nearby creatures.
Just like
Shadowmeld
, if mobs are directly next to you, they will have a chance of seeing through the stealth and reengage with you. Similarly, mobs that have True Sight can do the same, although from further away. However, you are able to click off the 2.5s buff in order to become stealthed faster, which means you'll likely get a macro to do that safely.
Thoughts and Opinions
As many players have seen from the MDI,
Shadowmeld
is a nice quality of life tool in the open world, but in Dungeons and Raids it has the potential to have a massive impact. With
Soulshape
, it's going to be a little harder to time correctly as you'd have to apply and then cancelaura 2 buffs to actually stealth.
With
Shadowmeld
or
Soulshape
, some of the largest uses will be:
Skip difficult or dangerous areas of trash without dying.
Cancel an enemy spell or cast
This will have numerous applications in the upcoming expansion and be more available to players than in BFA, but it will still only be available to members of the Night Fae Covenant or Night Elves. This isn't the first time that a Shadowmeld effect has been added to the game for players --
Rhan'ka's Escape Plan
was used for the same thing at the beginning of BFA. However, this was
very quickly nerfed
after players found out about it, signaling that Blizzard didn't want players using this in dungeons and raids.
Is this intended? It's hard to say, but if it doesn't get changed, you might see players prioritize looking for Night Fae players for skips in Mythic+. Many players were concerned about how
Door of Shadows
was predicted to be OP for skip, but the Venthyr ability only has a very short range. Compare this to
Soulshape
, and you can skip as much trash as you want and possibly even cancel boss mechanics which seems like the one that is more overpowered!
What do you think of this ability? Let us know in the comments.

Sepsis has been removed from Nightfae
Just wait for Night Elf Rogues with Night Fae as their covenant in pvp. Shadowmeld, Vanish, Soulshape, & Sepsis (vanish after dot falls off).

Well fellow alliance players... There goes our competitive edge in M+. Now the horde can use their strong AF racials and steal one of the only good ones we have.
Thanks Blizz, thanks for once again giving the horde another leg up. (Still waiting on a racial overhaul so the alliance can play the game at a high level)
Bloodmallet still shows human on top for most specs.. Do you mean alliance should be nerfed?

So horde has to settle between either the gate or the combat cheese, but not both at the same time, and yet you want to claim horde has an advantage with it? You can be a night elf with the gate, you know. That's incredibly broken, I hope you realize that no racial on horde gives us a free combat break.
You STILL have the upper hand. You STILL have the best M+ races. You STILL have humans at the top of the charts.
And yet you want to complain about horde "favoritism".

absolutely no reason to be alliance anymore. Horde will dominate in everything, PVP, mythic+, raiding scene.
Horde has dominated almost every aspect of the game since WOTLK and that isn't not going to change anytime soon. Especially not since most Devs seem to prefer Horde.

So how about adding every race's racial to covenants/soulbinds?
Or at least the in-damand ones. I don't think "increased archaeology speed" is worth it. But a good selection of combat racials wouldn't be so bad.

I’m convinced some of you are just trying to end up on Taliesin’s “!@#$ show” bit. The outrage seems forced.
If I could give this comment a 'like' I would
