jesus christ some people are actually mad about this due to covid, BAHAHAHAH
There really needs to be an opt out system for this. It is literally impossible for low level characters to do anything at all. It's just res, then die, then res, then die. Just make it a warmode specific event and it's fine.
Last time this bs happened, I and all my friends stopped playing until the event was over. Also, BBC covered this, focusing on angry players who paid subscribtion, but were unable to get what they paid for.And that was "one of the most beloved pre-patch events"?
So alot of people are complaining about an opt out system..but you are all applying this event (which was fun) to old game mechanics. This will take place after the level squish and the leveling change. Orgrimmar and stormwind will get attacked yes, but thats pretty much going be the only disruption. New characters are funneled into BFA. Alt characters can choose to level in any of the the expanions from classic to BFA. There are many many cities. The only issue i see is the portal rooms being hijacked but oh boy let me tell you...theres a class called a mage that can make portals!*edit* also mounts at lvl 10 (zombies are all on foot) and flying at lvl 20 (zombies still on foot)
The Marmite event is back! You either love it or you hate it. I'm in the love bracket. It was genius and I had so much fun. Either hiding from the zombies or being a zombie was so much fun.
Well, the griefers loved it to bits at any rate...I don't know what Blizz is thinking either, an event like this, add in a playerbase rife with griefers and the fact that new expansions tend to bring lapsed players back, and you've got one hell of a bad first impression...
Funny that, I remember the zombie event at the Wrath pre patch and it was a lot of fun. If you don't like it, vote with your wallet but please spare us from your negativity.
This event was really fun on RP realms back in the day, and I can't wait to relive it.That said, I wouldn't at all mind if Blizzard curbed some of the griefing potential by protecting low-level players and important NPCs. It should be a fun and dangerous PVP romp, not a grief-fest.

I'm quite looking forward to this! Maybe they can add safe pockets with something like mages shielding the doorway to the AH/portal room from zombies as a slight compromise and containment? Probably would be best to phase Exile's Reach characters until they've started their expansion experience too as I imagine that'd be a real pain for them. Otherwise I can't wait to see how long I survive (approx. 20 seconds) before joining the zombie horde
So not only is Blizzard rehashing an old event 100% instead of making something new, the event is also involving a plague during a time when hundreds of thousands of people have died to a pandemic IRL. Tone deaf Blizzard at it again.
Ppl are so annoying, why the hell cant they enjoy an event for once,i really hope blizz won't back down this time and actually go through with the event but i think they will make some changes to make everyone happy and if they make some changes they should make the event be up for only one week, like the final one and not remove the event
