If players want to jump around dungeons they don't have to opt-in to Chromie Time. The entire point of Chromie Time is to be in the expansion you're in and make a more universal experience. I don't expect this to be 'hotfixed' at all.
Dungeon Finder queues are gonna be so *!@#ed with this. They just need a true random dungeon finder as part of this otherwise you’ll be waiting 2 hours for a group.
just wondering, can level 60s do old content without chromie time? How does that work?
I'm still not entirely sold on this levelling design. While I do like that I can spend the entirety of my levelling in one zone and relive the storyline, I cannot FINISH the storyline. From an RPG perspective, it's like playing through a story, getting partway through Act 3, and then turning off the game. A lot of essential story elements are kept within the later patches and the final tier raid, which you won't be able to explore in this levelling design unless you keep going after hitting level 50.Taliesin proposed a good idea to have specific story-essential quests highlighted to follow through the expansion (like in Shadowlands) with solo mini-raids like what you experience in Exiles Reach. Highlighted quests would definitely be needed for expansions like TBC, WotLK, and Cataclysm where there is no set path and can leave new players confused and old players forced to remind themselves which quests are filler and which are not.
Ohhhh, the Chromie Time guide was updated! Okay, those zone scalings without Chromie Time ease my mind. All I have to do is keep questing and I should honestly be able to hit 50 even if the specific xpac only scales to 40 or even 35. And if I don't, I can just do what I already do and poke my head in various other xpac intros until I deeng.
So, I'm sorry if this has been answered before, or if it's obvious and I'm not getting it, but if I want to level through the 5 specific high level zones introduced in Cataclysm (Hyjal, Vash'jir, Uldum, Deepholm, and Twilight Highlands), will I first need to level in Vanilla zones until about level 30, then switch to the Cataclysm zones? Because I assumed you could choose to only level in Vanilla zones (albeit the ones updated in Cataclysm) until level 50, and then there was a separate choice of leveling in only those 5 zones mentioned earlier until level 50.
Okay, not entirely clear on just one thing - does Chromie Time apply per *character*, or cross-account?Cause it would suck to have to go turn this off each time I want to solo raids on my maxed main.
Sorry this is a bit unrelated but the article made me wonder: I have a friend who just started playing a few weeks ago and her highest level character is about 40 currently. What will happen when the pre-patch hits? Will she be forced into BFA because she hasn't done it, be stuck leveling normally until the new 45 (or whenever you go into BFA), or have a choice?
wake me up when shadowlands will be the new starter experience and the hamster wheel spin again.
There's only really one question/answer i care about tbh.Is Chromie time faster than BFA leveling and if so, which expansion is fastest for 10-50?
How does this work with Party Sync? If I’m level 50 in prepatch and my friend is leveling fresh, will Party Sync bring me down to their level? (Right now it only brings you to the max level of their zone, right?)
