Not a good feature for this game, main currency for this game is a time spent, i wanna see chinese player who is new to the game to complete most of achievements, he will complete them maybe after 30 years with this restriction, if i was somehow limited to play world of warcraft i will not be playing at all.
Didn't they do this because people were found dead in Internet Cafe's from playing the game for so long they didn't eat/drink and just died ..
This just means leveling has to be really, really well-tuned, and gold-making needs to be restricted to the auction house. It's ridiculous to think that Chinese gold farmers are literally farming... gold. These are useless restrictions that are just meant to virtue signal to government entities in China that they are doing something. In reality, these restrictions (like other Chinese restrictions and rules) are of very little value to the actual issues.

I'd honestly be fine if there was an option to enable this. Maybe my ADD brain would keep track of my play time. >.>
Actually while this might be a nice feature for parental control, it is actually a really bad system. Rather, I would prefer to have the hourly game time (the game time mode removed recently in asian regions, and a lot of players are complainting about the change) available to all regions and this allows a hell lot better parental control.
This system is to protect kids under 18 in China, if you are over 18, you can verify with netease, and they will remove this debuff in game for your account. It's not a terrible system, just to protect under age kid and prevent game addiction.
Can the mods please just lock this thread?Don't know which is worse, that people didn't read the article or some commenters using poor reasoning such as appeal to authority. On topic though, there should be a debuff called 'Go out and get a life' after 6 hours of playing and you get no loot after more than 9 hours.
