Like many of the other Uldaman quests, this can now easily be solo'd. All of the former elites outside of the dungeon are regular mobs in the mid-upper 30's.

It might take a couple of passes, but I got all of the fungus whilst doing the other quests. Look for the "Clusters" they give 3 instead of 1 but also give a disease that can be abolished or cured with the quest reward.

This quest does not count towards the Loremaster acheivement for Eastern Kingdoms.

Note that the mushrooms spawn outside the real instance (uldaman, entrance at arround 43,13) but inside the cave, witch makes the quest soloable. But if you're not a stealth type class (rouge / druid) this will result in a lot of killing. Also note that the mushrooms often drops more then 1. I got one with 5, two with 3, and four with 1. Hope it helps :)

The spawn time on the mushrooms is about 7 minutes.

I don't know if this is new since no one mentioned it, but I picked up a mushroom and it gave me Magenta Cap Sickness, a debuff that decreases all stats by 10 for *20 minutes*, and can't be dispelled/cured. Pretty bad if you're doing this at level, merely annoying and stupid if you're above.

The Magenta Cap Sickness can also easily be removed using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2633 dropped by Kurzen humanoid mobs located in northern Stranglethorn Vale, around 48.6.

When I turned this quest in, Jarkal gave me thorns and mark of the wild. I see he's a troll druid before they come out of the Cataclysm closet.

Описание

I've heard about a newly discovered plant called the magenta fungus caps. They grow in clusters at the Uldaman dig site and can be found in the early tunnels and deep within the less-explored areas. I want to study their potential use in alchemy, and that's where you come in.

Find the magenta cap clusters and bring me a dozen caps. Be warned, the clusters may spew out poison spores if jostled.

Do this for me, and I'll whip up a batch of one of my famous restorative elixirs for you!
